A blaze at a restaurant in Lincoln Park injured two people including a Chicago firefighter early Friday morning.
Around 4:20 a.m., a “minor” fire broke out in a storage shed near Cafe Brauer, 2021 N. Stockton Dr., Chicago Fire Department officials said.
“The fire was in the shed where the propane tanks are stored,” said fire department spokesperson Larry Langford. “The tanks were on fire.”
A hazardous materials alarm was called during the emergency because propane is flammable, Langford added.
The fire was quickly extinguished, fire officials said.
A firefighter was taken to Rush University Medical Center with a “very minor” injury, a spokesperson with the fire department said.
Another person, a 46-year-old man, was hospitalized with a medical issue, and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was in fair condition, police said. Neither injury was burn-related.
The cause of the fire was not known immediately.
“The whole thing is still under investigation,” Langford said.
