Final season of FX’s ‘The Bear’ to premiere June 25

“The Bear” is coming to an end this summer — and now fans can save the date.

The final season of the Chicago-based hit TV show is set to air beginning June 25, according to a news release from FX. It will air on FX and be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.

SPOILER ALERT: The final season will pick up after Season 4’s cliffhanger ending, in which troubled-but-brilliant chef Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) walks away from the food business and leaves the restaurant to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliott).

The news of the final season’s premiere comes a day after FX unexpectedly dropped a flashback episode following Richie and Carmy’s brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) on a road trip to Gary, Indiana. The first season of the show picked up shortly after Mikey’s suicide prompted Carmy to leave his fine dining career in New York and help save the family sandwich shop.

Chicagoans saw themselves in the hit show, which is loosely based on the River North restaurant Mr. Beef and has filmed in Chicago for years. The show has brought new fans to some of Chicago’s most respected restaurants that have been featured on the show, including Filipino bakery Kasama in West Town and Grant Achatz’s Alinea. Chicagoans even competed to see who most resembled the show’s lead, Jeremy Allen White, in a look-alike contest in 2024.

That the upcoming season would be the series’ last and has been expected for months, though a premiere date was never confirmed. Recurring guest star Jamie Lee Curtis told Entertainment Tonight in March, “It is the end of the show. Everybody knows it’s the end of the show. I’m not breaking any news to anybody.”

The final season will begin with two episodes dropped on June 25, with one episode following weekly, according to FX.
