Fatal crash involving semitrailer shuts down Airport Road in Aurora, police say

At least one person is dead after a Thursday morning crash involving a semitrailer in Aurora, police said.

The fatal two-vehicle crash happened when a car and the semitrailer collided just before 3 a.m. Thursday at East 32nd Avenue and Airport Road, just off Interstate 70, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Aurora police officials said the intersection is closed for the crash cleanup and investigation, but no additional information — including how many people were hurt or killed — was available Thursday morning.

The closure also includes the I-70 offramps onto Airport Road and is expected to last through the morning rush hour, police said.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
