Fatal assault in West Side park ruled homicide

Police are looking for the person responsible for a fatal assault in a West Side park Monday afternoon.

The unidentified victim, only as a female of an unknown age, was found unresponsive in Horan Park, 3035 W. Van Buren St., near a playground about 4:50 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was dead on the scene, according to police, and no arrests have been made.

Area 4 detectives are investigating.
