Eastbound I-70 closed near Eagle for car fire

Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed Sunday near Eagle for a car fire, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

As of 11:30 a.m., the eastbound interstate was closed between U.S. 6 and Exit 147 for Eagle, about 3 miles east of Gypsum, CDOT officials said. Multiple Waze users in the area reported standstill traffic.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and take alternate routes where possible.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
