Eastbound I-70 closed near Breckenridge for crash

Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed near Breckenridge and the Vail Pass Summit exit after a vehicle crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The agency announced the closure on social media at 9:28 a.m. No other details were provided about the crash, but the National Weather Service has warned of snow and risky road conditions impacting areas of the state above 9,000 feet in elevation.

Friday’s forecast for Breckenridge includes snow and rain continuing through the weekend.
