OAKLAND – One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting Monday afternoon in East Oakland, according to authorities.

CHP seeks information on East Bay freeway shooting

The fatal shooting happened around 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of East Street and 105th Avenue.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The death marked the city’s 49th homicide of the year. At this time last year, police had investigated 52 homicides.

The other person was taken to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition, according to authorities.

The homicide was the city’s second of the day. A 52-year-old man was shot and killed in his RV around 12:40 a.m. in the 8400 block of Enterprise Way, near the Oakland Coliseum.

No arrests were announced in either case.
