East Bay pets of the week for March 7

Hi, I’m Emmy Lou. I’m an 11-month-old Shepherd mix with a lively spirit. I adore hikes and doggie playtime, then curling up for a snuggly snooze. My puppy side can show as shyness, but with gentle guidance and training, I’ll grow into an amazing companion. If you’re experienced (another dog buddy is a plus!), I’d love to add a dash of excitement to your home. I’m playful, affectionate, and ready for my next adventure. I’ve been waiting almost a year — I can’t wait to find my perfect family! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Henley is a very handsome, very sweet and very, very good boy. This 4-year-old is a real find – a true 65-pound gem. Everything about Henley is top-notch. He’s friendly, affectionate, polite when meeting new people, good with other dogs, playful, energetic (but with a good off button), loves to snuggle, easy to walk, great in the car, sleeps through the night, potty-trained and very engaging. Meet Henley from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda. You can also call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

At only 2 years old, Oliver was dumped at feral colony in Bay Point by someone who had neutered — but not chipped — him. Thankfully, the feeder took him inside, treated his injuries and gave him a fuzzy bed for biscuit making while he waits for a home. If you are interested in this handsome guy, contact Dana at 925-586-6408 or DanaCC4C@gmail.com. Community Concern for Cats now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Walnut Creek and Martinez along with our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek.
