Aloha, I’m Lehua! I’m a bouncy, 3-month-old female pup coming to you from the Big Island of Hawaii and can’t wait to blossom my love in your home! I’m all about play and having a good time, so bring on the games and toys and lots of outdoor adventures and we’ll have an absolute blast! Oh, and did I mention I’m an expert cuddler? Super snuggles and wiggly, waggly tails ahead! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org/adoptable_dogs/lehua to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Whiskey’s soulful eyes and shy approach will melt your heart right away, as this pup prefers to get to know you a bit before letting loose. That’s when Whiskey’s sweet, gentle nature shines, especially when he decides you are the perfect person to shower him with affection. This snuggly, 2-year-old Hound mix is on the smaller size, but we’re waiving his adoption fees as part of our Big Dog special. Through the end of the month we’re offering free adoptions on most of our dogs, so we can continue to support wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. Meet Whiskey at our Dublin adoption center! The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions.

Nabokov is one of four lionhead rabbits abandoned at a shopping center in Alameda. They’re all named after Russian authors, and they do look a bit erudite with their long tufts of fur in authorial places. Nabokov is not as outgoing as some of the others, but he is curious about people and willing to investigate if you sit down beside him and offer some hay. He loves being petted. You can meet Nabokov at the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter’s South Shore Adoption Center on 2228 South Shore from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday. You can also call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.
