East Bay pets of the week for Feb. 28

Hi, I’m Cinderella! I’m a cuddly princess ready to fit into your home like a perfectly-sized shoe! I’m young, active and love playtime, but I can be skittish with new people and places. I need an experienced owner to help me shine with TLC, fun puppy training and plenty of toys! House training, energy and love come with the package — but so do cuddles and kisses! Let’s make magic happen! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

One-year-old Hazelnut has a lovely coat to match her name and is looking for someone to help her out of her shell. Once she opens up this young Labrador mix is as sweet as they come. Hazelnut loves affection and will happily lay out for hours of scratches and pets. This girl gains confidence daily, taking part in jogs and playtime with our volunteers and staff. She has a curiosity about the world and would love to share with a loving companion. Hazelnut was transported out of Southern California to create room for pets being displaced by the wildfires there. Now she’s searching for a peaceful home where she can grow and thrive. The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions.

Gorgeous 2-year-old German shepherd Starr is a great listener — her ears were built to hear anything you want to tell her … and she won’t tell anyone else! She’s gentle, sweet and loves soft ear scratches and a good cuddle. Starr might seem aloof at first, but so can a lot of wonderful people who are shy, as she can be. Give her a little time and you’ll see the amazing girl we see. Meet Starr from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda. You can also call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.
