East Bay foursome arrested in Marin on retail theft allegations

Novato police arrested four suspects who allegedly conspired to shoplift from a shoe store.

The incident happened at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Designer Shoe Warehouse store on Vintage Way, police Lt. Nick Frey said. Police detained the suspects at the store.

Oakland towing company sentenced to pay restitution after towing thousands of cars illegally

Police booked the suspects into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy and organized retail theft. They are Samerie Janelle Lee, 49, of Richmond; Donnalee Miranda Encinas, 37, of Hercules; Willie Joe Johnson Jr., 50, of Oakland; and Alexander Armenta, 42, of San Pablo.

Johnson was also booked on suspicion of possessing a switchblade, tear gas and controlled substances. Armenta was booked on allegations of resisting arrest and providing false identification, and for outstanding warrants.

The suspects remained in custody Thursday.
