Eagles Add ‘Explosive’ Potential A.J. Brown Replacement in Latest Mock Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft is just over two weeks away, and so much is yet to be determined about how that will play out. For the Philadelphia Eagles, coming off a disappointing end to the 2025 season, a lot is hinging on the players they add in the draft. The Eagles can’t afford to whiff on many of their picks if they want to get back to dominating the NFC in the future.

We’re in the heart of mock draft season, and those are good exercises to mimic how teams might approach the draft if the board falls in various ways. I’ve been scouting this class since last summer and it’s almost surreal to think they’ll be NFL players in just a few short weeks.

Today, I’ll be conducting a three-round Eagles-centric mock draft. This will be a predictive mock using PFF’s simulator to project who will be available at each pick. The Eagles have four picks in the top 100, and they could add a considerable infusion of youthful talent to their roster through this draft.

Round 1, Pick 23: The Philadelphia Eagles Select Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr.

Will A.J. Brown be on the Eagles’ roster by the time the 2026 season kicks off? That remains an open question, and Philadelphia would be wise to draft some insurance in case that dramatic situation continues to spiral. Even if Brown remains in Philly for the short term, the Eagles need more receiving options anyway, and he doesn’t seem long for the team.

Cooper is an explosive playmaker and downfield threat. Indiana CB D’Angelo Ponds compared his releases to Davante Adams, and you can see why on tape. Cooper’s speed and ball skills — combined with his short-area burst and ability to gain separation anywhere on the field — make him such an intriguing prospect. He was the Hoosiers’ most dynamic offensive weapon en route to their national title.

Other players I considered in this spot include Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor, Auburn ED Keldric Faulk, and Georgia DT Christen Miller. But it was hard to pass up what Cooper would add to the Philadelphia offense.

Round 2, Pick 54: The Philadelphia Eagles Select Tennessee ED Joshua Josephs

The Eagles also need to get more dynamic off the edge on defense and improve their pass rush. Josephs is one of the best pass rushers in this class, with incredible first-step explosiveness and freakish bend around the edge. He’s a good run defender, too.

Philadelphia could also look to add San Diego State CB Chris Johnson or Vanderbilt TE Eli Stowers in this spot, but edge defender is a bigger need.

Round 3, Pick 68: The Eagles Select Ohio State TE Max Klare

At some point, the Eagles do need to address the tight end position. They reached an agreement with Dallas Goedert, but that’s a temporary arrangement. Klare is a fantastic, versatile offensive piece who can line up in-line and block or split out wide and become a dangerous receiving threat.

Round 3, Pick 98: The Eagles Select Arizona S Genesis Smith

Safety is another need for Philadelphia, and Smith is a great option. He’s fluid in coverage with the press-man skills of a cornerback and the dynamic range of a center-field safety. Just don’t ask him to come down into the box too often.
