Driver died after rear-ending CTA bus on Lower West Side

A driver died after crashing into the back of a stationary CTA bus early Sunday in the Lower West Side neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The bus, with five passengers onboard, was waiting at a red light in the 2300 block of South Blue Island Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Sunda. The driver, 32, was in an SUV traveling in the same direction when he crashed into the rear of the bus, according to police.


He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.
