As the saying goes, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. The Las Vegas Raiders released undrafted safety Tanner Wall this week. According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the Miami Dolphins signed the defensive back Friday.
The Dolphins signed Wall while adding fellow defensive back Omar Brown to the injured list. With that in mind, Miami further cemented its secondary depth with a claim off waivers for defensive back Ahmari Harvey.
Miami also waived quarterback Mark Gronowski.
The Dolphins capped off the busy Friday with several visits from tight ends. Tight ends Baylor Cupp, Zach Davidson, Brandon Frazier, Tre’ McKitty and Jermaine Terry visited Miami for workouts.
Dolphins Sign Safety Tanner Wall

Wall played college football at BYU from 2021-25. During his first two seasons for the Cougars, he played wide receiver. But after only significant opportunities on special teams, he switched positions to safety.
From 2023-25, Wall posted 146 combined tackles with seven interceptions. All of his picks came during his final two seasons.
In his last campaign at BYU, Wall had 71 combined tackles and four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. After the season, he received All-Big 12 first-team honors.
Wall went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft. He signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent on April 30.
He was with the Raiders for a little more than three months, including the start of training camp.
Wall highlighted the secondary moves the Dolphins made Friday, but the team also parted ways with Brown and claimed Harvey off waivers. Miami claimed Harvey from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Harvey is also an undrafted free agent. He initially signed with the Denver Broncos, but at the end of the spring, Denver released the defensive back.
Harvey signed with the Steelers on June 25.
Dolphins Work Out Five Tight Ends

The Dolphins don’t appear to be done making moves. They seem to want to add or make a change at tight end. The Dolphins are pursuing tight ends despite just adding Jeremiah Franklin off waivers Wednesday.
In addition to Franklin, Miami has Greg Dulcich, Cole Turner, Seydou Traore, Ben Sims, and Will Kacmarek on the roster at tight end. Dulcich led all Dolphins tight ends with 335 receiving yards last season. He registered a 411-yard receiving season with the Denver Broncos as a rookie in 2022.
Of the tight ends who tried out for the Dolphins on Friday, McKitty has the most experience. He appeared in 34 games, starting 12 of them, for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2021-23. The tight end posted 16 catches and 117 receiving yards.
McKitty has experienced stints with the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans since his last regular season game.
Frazier is the least experienced tight end of the group to try out Friday. He is an undrafted free agent from Auburn. Frazier spent four days with the Atlanta Falcons in May but has been a free agent since then.
