Detroit Tigers Announce Gleyber Torres News During Rangers Game

On Saturday night, the Detroit Tigers are playing the Texas Rangers (at home) in Michigan.

Gleyber Torres had two hits and one RBI in his first two at-bats of the game.

However, he exited with an injury.

Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic wrote: “Hao-Yu Lee has entered at second base in place of Gleyber Torres”

The Tigers have now made an official announcement on Torres.

They wrote (via X): “Gleyber Torres exited tonight’s game after experiencing tightness in his left side. He remains under evaluation.”

Torres is in the middle of his second year playing for the Tigers.

The three-time MLB All-Star came into the night batting .246 with 28 hits, two home runs, ten RBI’s and 18 runs in 31 games.

Before the Tigers, Torres spent seven years with the New York Yankees.

Despite all of their injuries, the Tigers have still remained competitive.

They came into the night as the second-place team in the American League Central with a 16-17 record in 33 games.

In addition, the Tigers have gone 10-3 in 13 games at home.

After one more game against the Rangers, the Tigers will host the Boston Red Sox on Monday.
