Detroit Lions Announce Fate Of LB Malcolm Rodriguez

The start of NFL free-agency is officially upon us, and the Detroit Lions have been one of the more active teams in terms of transactions so far.

While they have made a handful of additions, they’ve also lost multiple players, including Kalif Raymond, Alex Anzalone, Amik Robertson, Roy Lopez, Graham Glasgow, Taylor Decker, David Montgomery, and Kyle Allen.

However, linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez will not be among the club’s departures. Minutes ago, it was confirmed that the Lions have re-signed Rodriguez to a one-year extension.

Thanks to the departure of Anzalone to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rodriguez could see a larger role with the Lions.

He was limited to 10 games in 2024, and then seven games in this most recent season.
