Denver weather: Record-high temperatures possible across Front Range on Sunday

Sunday may bring record-high temperatures of 90 degrees or more for Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, according to the National Weather Service.

Denver’s high temperature is forecast to hit 91 degrees, just shy of the Sept. 29 record of 92 degrees. Fort Collins is expected to scorch past its current daily record of 86 degrees with a 90 degree forecast. Boulder is projected to tie its 89 degree record Sunday.

Denver broke one daily heat record last week, when Thursday temperatures reached 91 degrees and snapped a 14-year high. Both Pueblo and Colorado Springs tied their daily records Thursday.

Temperatures this week will swing between the high 70s on Tuesday and the low 90s on Thursday, according to the weather service.

High temperatures are expected in southern Colorado, too: La Junta may get as hot as 95 degrees Monday, while Lamar is forecast to hit 94 degrees and Pueblo 93 degrees.
