A 41-year-old Denver man was sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material and being involved with a related site on the dark web, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado said Thursday.

Christopher Carl Meier was already on parole for a 2013 conviction for sexual exploitation of a child when he became a member of a dark website dedicated to child sexual abuse material, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Meier, who was a member of the website for more than 18 months and made 600 posts, wrote on the website that he tricked boys into thinking they were interacting with a girl their own age online, agency officials said Thursday.
There are at least 65 victims in the case.
Meier pleaded guilty to five counts of distributing child sexual abuse material and one count of conspiracy to distribute on July 9. He was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release.
