Denver man charged with murder in fatal roommate shooting

A Denver man faces murder charges in the fatal shooting of his roommate, according to court records.

Tyler Nelson, 30, was arrested last week and charged Monday morning with first-degree murder after deliberation, according to court records. He is being held in the Downtown Denver Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Denver police said Nelson called 911 around 1:02 a.m. last Tuesday to report a shooting at his apartment in the 600 block of South Dayton Street.

When officers arrived in the Windsor neighborhood, they found a woman who lived with Nelson suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The woman — who has not been publicly identified by police — died from her injuries before paramedics could take her to the hospital.
