Dallas Cowboys Sign Former Giants Running Back

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing in another running back for training camp in hopes of creating much-needed depth that was missing in 2025.

“Dallas Cowboys signing running back Jashaun Corbin, per a league source,” NFL reporter Aaron Wilson wrote on his official X account on Friday.

“The Dallas Cowboys have signed Orlando Storm RB Jashaun Corbin,” UFL/NFL reporter James Larsen wrote on his official X account on Friday. “Corbin had a strong campaign with Orlando this past UFL season, rushing for 463 yards & 3 TD’s. Led UFL in rushing yards in 2025 w/ Brahmas. Another well deserved opportunity for Jashaun.”

“The Cowboys have signed RB Jashaun Corbin and waived RB Dominic Richardson,” The Athletic’s Jon Machota wrote on his official X account on Friday.

Corbin Split Time Between 2 College Football Powers

Corbin, 5-foot-11 and 224 pounds, spent 2 seasons at Texas A&M and 2 seasons at Florida State before going undrafted in 2022. He played 2 seasons for the Giants in 2022 and 2023 and has also spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and New England Patriots.

His UFL career has included playing for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2025 and the Orlando Storm in 2026.

“Corbin has decent size and good vision, but he will need to play with better decisiveness early in the rep, as his play speed and cut quickness are unlikely to aid him enough in eluding NFL tacklers,” NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in his 2022 pre-draft evaluation. “He responds fairly well to block development and runs with some pop, but it’s hard to find an area of his game that really stands out.”

Cowboys Invested Heavily at RB in Offseason

The Cowboys made a big move at running back this offseason by signing free agent Javonte Williams to a 3-year, $24 million contract after he rushed for 1,200 yards playing for Dallas on a 1-year, $3 million “prove it” contract in 2025.

One place the Cowboys did not find any luck at the running back position was in the NFL Draft, where they selected 2 running backs in 2025, with Jaydon Blue (5th round) and Phil Mafah (7th round).

That duo combined for a whopping 147 yards and 2 touchdowns as rookies, and both appear on the road to being out-and-out busts.
