Dak Prescott Breaks Silence on ‘Unfortunate’ Split With Ex-Fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos

Dak Prescott is speaking publicly for the first time about the end of his engagement to Sarah Jane Ramos.

Months after the couple called off their planned wedding in Italy, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback addressed the breakup in an interview with The Dallas Morning News, describing it as “an unfortunate situation” while making it clear his priority is co-parenting the couple’s two daughters.

The comments mark Prescott’s first public remarks about the split since he and Ramos ended their engagement in March.

Dak Prescott Says His Focus Is on His Children After the Split

Prescott acknowledged there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the breakup but said many of the stories circulating weren’t accurate.

“There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides,” Prescott told The Dallas Morning News.

The quarterback called the breakup difficult for everyone involved, especially their children.

“It was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody,” Prescott said. “And, more importantly, the kids.”

“For me, it’s just about making sure I’m there in every which way for them.”

Prescott and Ramos share two daughters, Margaret Jane “MJ,” 2, and Aurora, 1.

The former couple announced they had canceled their Lake Como wedding in an email sent to guests, describing it as the “difficult decision” to end their engagement just weeks before the ceremony.

Prescott and Ramos Have Maintained an Amicable Co-Parenting Relationship

Following the breakup, Ramos publicly addressed one rumor surrounding the split, denying speculation that the relationship ended because of a prenuptial agreement.

She has not publicly commented on reports alleging the breakup stemmed from infidelity issues.

In the months since, Prescott made headlines after he was spotted with Caitlin Rance during the PBR World Finals. Multiple eyewitnesses told Page Six the pair appeared affectionate throughout the event, though Rance later addressed the speculation on Instagram Stories.

“I am single,” she wrote, adding that she has “a very active Raya profile” and that they were “just here to have a good time.”

Despite the end of their relationship, Prescott and Ramos have continued to co-parent their daughters.

In May, the former couple reunited to celebrate Aurora’s first birthday, signaling they remain committed to raising their children together.

Dak Prescott Also Looks Ahead to the Cowboys’ Season

With training camp underway, Prescott has also shifted his focus back to football.

The Cowboys will travel to California next week for joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams before the two teams meet during the regular season in December.

Prescott said he’s looking forward to measuring Dallas against one of the NFC’s top teams.

“It’s all you can ask for,” Prescott said. “CeeDee was just talking about it today, looking forward to Tuesday.”

He added that he hopes the Rams matchup won’t be the only meeting between the teams this season.

“Looking forward to just us getting better, understanding this is a team that we’re going to play in the season, and it’s probably a team that if we want to get to where we want to get to, we’re going to have to see them again,” Prescott said.

“So call this probably the first of three meetings, I’d assume if everybody takes care of business. It’s definitely going to be a test, it’s going to be fun.”
