Correction: 14 new California laws to watch for in 2025

A previous version of a front-page article published Friday, Dec. 27, about new laws going into effect in California in 2025 erroneously reported that Assembly Bill 1955 forbids public school employees from disclosing a student’s sexual orientation or gender identity without the student’s consent. In fact, the law prevents schools from requiring that an employee do so.
