Traffic was once again flowing Wednesday through a Heart of Chicago neighborhood viaduct after pieces of cement tumbled onto the street below.
Chicago Fire Department officials responded to West 18th Street and South Damen Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday for pieces of cement falling from the viaduct, which is owned by BNSF railway, according to spokesperson Larry Langford and fire dispatch audio.
Chicago police blocked off entry into the viaduct and the Department of Streets and Sanitation also responded to the area, Langford said.
No injuries were reported and traffic was once again flowing through the viaduct as of Wednesday morning.
