Thanks to a series of storms that have been generous to most of the Colorado high country this month, most ski resorts have received well above normal snowfall so far this season.
In fact, Steamboat is the only resort with below-average snowfall, sitting at 86% of normal, according to figures curated by the OpenSnow forecasting and reporting service. Steamboat has received 28 inches.
As of Monday, Crested Butte, Monarch, Purgatory and Telluride all have received twice their normal amount of snowfall for this date, and Eldora is close at 96% above normal. Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Buttermilk, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Echo, Powderhorn, Granby, Snowmass, Sunlight, Winter Park and Wolf Creek all are sitting at more than 50% above normal.

Copper Mountain has received the most snow so far with 55 inches. followed by Purgatory (46), Keystone (42) and Telluride (41). Areas receiving double-digit snow over the past five days include Echo Mountain and Monarch with 16, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland with 10.
Another storm is due mid-week with 16 resorts forecast to receive six inches or more, according to OpenSnow.
Only eight resorts have opened for the season — Wolf Creek, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Eldora, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Winter Park and Loveland. Vail is scheduled to open for the season on Friday and Purgatory on Saturday.
