Following the shocking and devastating loss of 23-year-old sophomore quarterback Dominiq Ponder, who played for the University of Colorado at Boulder Buffaloes football team, the program’s head coach has released a personal post about the young man and player of his whose life was so tragically cut far too short today.
In the hours immediately following Ponder’s passing, head coach Deion Sanders took to the social media platform X to upload a black-and-white athletic photo of Ponder – who was #22 on the team – with the years of his life on this earth written at the bottom: 2002-2006. Then it was what Sanders wrote to go along with the picture of Dominiq Ponder that shows not only the authentically compassionate culture that he has cultivated within the Colorado Buffaloes’ program, but the depth of impact that Dominiq Ponder had on his teammates, peers, and the head coach.
