After a 40-year career at ABC7, investigative reporter Chuck Goudie is no longer with the news station.
WLS-TV spokesperson Jayme Nicholas told the Sun-Times Tuesday that the award-winning broadcaster had left the company, but did not comment further on the circumstances of his exit.
“Chuck was a valued member of our ABC7 team for many years and we thank him for his groundbreaking contributions,” Nicholas said in a statement. “We wish him only the best in his next chapter.”
Goudie did not immediately respond to the Sun-Times’ request for comment.
The veteran journalist joined the station as a general assignment reporter in 1980 and was promoted to chief investigative reporter a decade later. He went on to lead the I-Team.
In 2018, he was honored with an induction into the Silver Circle of the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
