Chiefs or Eagles? Eagles or Chiefs? In this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we wanted to know which Super Bowl 59 combatant you’ll be rooting for.

The team with the whole Taylor Swift thing or the team without the whole Taylor Swift thing?

Next, we asked which part of Super Bowl Sunday you’re most psyched for: eating and drinking gluttonously, betting on everything that isn’t nailed down, reveling in the halftime show or (nerd alert) watching the ads?

“Pizza,” commented @JBIRD1268, presumably with his mouth full.

Last, we asked which you’d watch if you could only watch one: the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup final or the NBA/WNBA finals?

Some, such as @Grifeweizen and @RiisPark99, opted for hockey. Others, like @hapatterson and @grizzlebear14, were all-in on the WNBA. But football carried the day. Come on, you knew it would.

Poll No. 1: Are you rooting for the Chiefs or the Eagles to win the Super Bowl?

Upshot: Oh, look, the Chiefs are playing for the championship for the third year in a row and the fifth time in the last six years. Aren’t we all beyond excited? No? Apparently not.

Poll No. 2: Aside from the game itself, which part of Super Bowl Sunday are you most looking forward to?

Upshot: Who are we? We’re Americans, damn it. We know what we stand for, and that’s inhaling 13-layer dip from a trough long past the first signs of gastrointestinal distress.

Poll No. 3: If you could watch only one from now on, which would it be?

Upshot: It’s the NFL’s world, and we’re just living in it. Maybe the choices should’ve been harder, like Super Bowl or an offspring’s wedding? Super Bowl or the revelation of the meaning of life? Yeah, yeah, the football game probably would’ve won those, too.
