Chicago could see a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
It’s expected to start around noon — though there’s a chance some areas will see precipitation start as early as 9 a.m. — and last until about 6 p.m. There’s also a 20% chance the snow will continue until midnight.
The storm would be “almost identical” to the winter storm that brought high winds and coated the city in 0.15 inches of ice Thursday morning, causing slick roads and sidewalks, National Weather Service meteorologist Zachary Yack said.
“This is very similar, the only caveat to this one is it’ll come a little later in the morning,” Yack said.
A wintry mix, including freezing rain, is likely to develop Saturday morning and continue through the day. At least a glaze of ice and some spotty snow accumulations of less than half an inch are possible, leading to slippery travel and walking conditions. #ILwx #INwx pic.twitter.com/nIS3Z1MJDn

Sunday and Monday are expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures in the low 30s, meaning the ice could stick around. Temperatures are likely to dip a few degrees Tuesday as the city faces another chance of snow. Yack said it wouldn’t be a significant snow shower, but more could come toward the end of next week.
“It may just be a glancing blow of some snow showers,” Yack said. “But we’re watching for another potential storm for more snow at the end of the week.”
A wintry mix of light snow, sleet and freezing rain remains likely for Saturday, which may cause some slippery travel and walking conditions. Otherwise, generally dry and seasonable weather is expected into early next week. #ILwx #INwx pic.twitter.com/MXJzOq2twD
