Chicago outdoors: Kankakee graffiti mystery, suburban buck & Bridgeport eagle

Notes come from around Chicago outdoors and beyond.

HELP!

Anyone know anything about this art or graffiti art on the north pillar of Warner Bridge on the Kankakee River? It intrigues me, but I’m getting nowhere with the backstory.

BUCK OF THE WEEK UNPLUGGED

Roy Wick messaged from Tinley Park Wednesday,”I had some new friends for breakfast this morning. They ate my evergreens, fallen sunflower seeds, fresh fallen leaves and leaves from low lying branches from my neighbor’s tree.” Consider this fair warning that we will be seriously into the rut this week.

WOTW, the celebration of wild stories and photos around Chicago outdoors, runs most weeks in the special two-page outdoors section in the Sun-Times Sports Sunday. To make submissions, email BowmanOutside@gmail.com or contact me on Facebook (Dale Bowman), Twitter (@BowmanOutside), Instagram (@BowmanOutside). or Bluesky (@Bowmanoutside).
