Chicago Cubs Acquire 2-Year MLB Player Before Reds Game

On Friday, the Chicago Cubs concluded their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs won by a score of 8-4 to sweep the three-game series.

Michael Busch led the team with two hits and four RBI’s.

After Sunday’s game, the Cubs claimed Luis Peralta off waivers.

Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network wrote: “#Cubs today claimed LHP Luis Peralta off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa.”

Peralta did not play in a game for St. Louis.

He was designated for assignment soon after being claimed.

Peralta has appeared in 37 games across two seasons for the Colorado Rockies.

He is coming off a season where he went 1-3 with a 9.47 ERA in 22 games.

The 25-year-old has yet to pitch in an MLB game this season (but has appeared in six Triple-A games).
