Celebrini said to be OK after exiting practice, but fellow Sharks forward to miss time

SAN JOSE — San Jose Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said Macklin Celebrini is expected to be OK after the 18-year-old forward left Tuesday’s practice early with what was described as a minor lower-body ailment.

“He’ll be fine,” Warsofsky said, adding that he expects Celebrini to practice Wednesday.

But Thomas Bordeleau might not be ready to start the season after he suffered a lower-body injury in a recent camp practice. Warsofsky described his status as more week-to-week.

Bordeleau did not skate Tuesday after he sat out the Sharks’ first preseason game on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights at SAP Center. The Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night, the second of their six preseason games, and begin the regular season on Oct. 10 at home against the St. Louis Blues.
