Cart-Driver sets its return to LoHi after a long closure

The team behind Cart-Driver is ready to reopen its location in the city’s Highland neighborhood after plumbing issues took the restaurant out of commission for more than a year.

The popular pizza, seafood and happy hour destination, at 2239 W. 30th Ave., will be back Thursday, Jan. 16, according to Cart-Driver’s newsletter. Parties of four or more can begin making reservations for Jan. 20 and beyond.

The LoHi location will be open for happy hour every day from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

What initially was expected to be two days of repairs in November of 2023 turned into a 22-day closure as crews ripped up the restaurant’s floor to reach the plumbing underneath. The next month, Cart-Driver announced it would close for an extended period to continue repairs. The LoHi restaurant remained closed all last year and in the meantime launched a catering service.

To celebrate its return, the bar will feature a new bourbon cocktail called the “Tiger Tiger”. Cart-Driver will donate the cocktail’s proceeds this month to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.

The Highland location opened in late 2019; Cart-Driver’s original location is at 2500 Larimer St. in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood.
