Bullets shatter window, hit 16-year-old boy inside Austin home

A teenage boy was shot inside a home Wednesday night in Austin.

The 16-year-old was inside a residence about 10:40 p.m. in the 600 block of North Lorel Avenue when gunfire smashed through a window and struck him in his hip, Chicago police said.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No arrests were made and Area 4 detectives are investigating.
