The Denver Broncos are keeping the band together so far, with the early stages of free agencyâbetter known as the legal tampering periodâyielding a significant returnee, veteran linebacker Alex Singleton.
Singleton has been with the Broncos since 2022. He has earned his way into being a back-to-back team captain over the past two seasons.
The former undrafted free agent will look to reprise his role in 2026.
Broncos Bring Back Alex Singleton
âBREAKING: The Broncos are re-signing Alex Singleton to a two-year deal worth $15.5 million with $11 million guaranteed, per source,â DNVRâs Zac Stevens reported on X on March 9.
Singleton, 32, is coming off a three-year, $18 million contract with the Broncos. He has earned $20.6 million in his career, not including his new deal. Spotrac projected Singletonâs market value at $4.7 million annually.
They added a two-year, $9.3 million pact as an example of what he could receive.
Singleton appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Broncos in 2025, missing his lone contest after surgery to remove a cancerous growth.
Broncos Get Alex Singleton on Bargain Deal
Singleton popped up at No. 99 on The Athleticâs free agency rankings, checking in as the
âSingleton is a physical, violent off-ball linebacker who plays with an edge,â The Athleticâs Daniel Popper wrote in February. âHe is at his best when moving downhill as a run defender and blitzer. He is willing and eager to take on climbing interior linemen, and the film shows he loves contact. Singleton ranked 12th in pass-rush win rate among off-ball linebackers with at least 80 pass-rush snaps. He is less instinctive as a coverage player, particularly in zone coverage.â
The Broncos re-signed veteran backup Justin Strnad on Sunday, keeping their two longest-tenured players at the position in-house entering the offseason.
The Athletic projected a two-year, $19 million deal, but the Broncos retained Singleton for less.
