Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders activated to 53-man roster, source says

The Broncos have activated second-year linebacker Drew Sanders to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, a source told The Denver Post.

Sanders has been on the PUP list since he tore an Achilles tendon during the early part of Denver’s offseason workout program last spring. Sanders returned to practice earlier this month, opening his 21-day window to return to the active roster.

Sanders was a full participant at practice leading up to Denver’s divisional win over the Raiders but was not activated for the game.

Sanders — a third-round draft pick in 2023 — played inside linebacker after first being drafted and then during the season switched to outside linebacker. Since returning from injury, Sanders has continued working with the team’s outside linebackers during the media viewing of practice.

Denver created room for Sanders to be elevated after waiving tight end Greg Dulcich on Monday. In addition to activating Sanders, the team also waived offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton, according to a source.
