The Broncos opened the offseason with a splash, signing linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga to bolster their defense and tight end Evan Engram to give Bo Nix another weapon.
So now what do they do in the draft? Denver owns the No. 20 pick in the first round.
Here’s a look at who national draftniks think will land in Denver.
NFL.com | Mike Band | Updated March 20
Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
“Matthew Golden, who ran a 4.29 40 at the combine, brings the kind of field-stretching presence head coach Sean Payton has long prized — reminiscent of Brandin Cooks, Kenny Stills and Ted Ginn Jr. in past Payton-led offenses. With Courtland Sutton inching toward his 30th birthday (in October) and entering the final year of his restructured deal, and given GM George Paton’s demonstrated penchant for athletic playmakers, Golden aligns perfectly as a dynamic long-term asset to support the growth of Bo Nix.” See the full mock draft.
CBS Sports | Pete Prisco | Updated March 25
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
“Sean Payton keeps talking about adding a “joker.” That’s his term for a playmaker who can do a lot of things. Hampton can be that guy. He is a home-run threat running back who can also run with power. After signing tight end Evan Engram, they will focus on running back with this pick.” See the full mock draft.
CBS Sports | Chris Trapasso | Updated March 26
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
“Sean Payton gets a bell cow back in Hampton, who has the size and dynamic athleticism to star right away in Denver.” See the full mock draft.
ESPN | Mike Tannenbaum | Updated March 25
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
“Javonte Williams signed in Dallas, and Denver didn’t go out and add a replacement RB1 in free agency. It can do so at the draft, though. Hampton is a great fit for Sean Payton’s offense after an outstanding 2024 season (1,660 yards and 38 receptions). He can make defenders miss in the hole and has home run speed once he’s free and clear (4.46 in the 40). Hampton is a three-down starter from Week 1, and that’s what the Broncos need.” See the full mock draft.
NFL.com | Daniel Jeremiah | Updated March 18
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
“Head coach Sean Payton loves running his offense through the tight ends, running backs and slot receivers. The Broncos landed their tight end via free agency in Evan Engram and now they get a back with some big-time juice.” See the full mock draft.
The Athletic | Ben Standig | Updated March 26
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
“Is Sean Payton’s offense better served drafting a wide receiver or helping a weaponless running back room? At least new tight end Evan Engram gives second-year quarterback Bo Nix another target.” See the full mock draft.
NFL.com | Bucky Brooks | Updated March 25
TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
“Adding a running back is a top priority for an offense looking to support a young franchise QB in second-year pro Bo Nix. Henderson’s speed and explosiveness add a big-play dimension to a grind-it-out offense.” See the full mock draft.
The Ringer | Staff | Updated March 20
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
“The Broncos look to keep building around Bo Nix, giving their young quarterback an incredible boost in the form of a running-game power-up. Jeanty brings gyroscopic balance out of the backfield and reliable hands as a pass catcher. He makes Denver’s offense that much harder to defend and should help the team stay balanced in 2025 and beyond.” See the full mock draft.
The Sporting News | Vinnie Iyer | Updated March 19
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
“The Broncos should be a team to watch to trade up aggressively for this superstar collegiate Bronco in the event he falls a little. Jeanty can slip down here with teams picking ahead of this spot having more pressing needs, too. Denver has done nothing to address running back in free agency, and that suggests the team can take this big swing.” See the full mock draft.
USA Today | Jacob Camenker via AI | Updated March 25
James Pearce Jr., edge, Tennessee
“The Broncos generated a league-high 63 sacks last season, but Copilot still wanted to give the team ‘a dynamic pass rusher with excellent athleticism and high upside.’ Between him, Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto and Dondrea Tillman, Denver would have one of the deepest edge rushing crews in the NFL.” See the full mock draft.
Pro Football Focus | Josh Liskiewitz | Updated March 24
Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
“Starks was a playmaker in the SEC for three straight seasons. He brings good football IQ, tackling and movement ability to play free, strong and slot. He isn’t a rare athlete, but he’s a starting-caliber player for the backend of any defense.” See the full mock draft.
NFL.com | Chad Reuter | Updated March 21
Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
- Broncos get: 2025 first-round pick (No. 12)
- Cowboys get: 2025 first-round pick (No. 20) and more
“Sean Payton takes advantage of teams overlooking Warren’s skills, sending Denver’s first- and second-round picks to Dallas for this selection and a fifth-rounder. The tight end brings great value to second-year signal-caller Bo Nix as a strong but nimble pass catcher who’s able to move the chains, get down the seam and be a major red zone threat.” See the full mock draft.
More picks:
- Third round, No. 85 overall: Princely Umanmielen, edge, Mississippi
- Fourth round, No. 122 overall: Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State
