Drama Amongst Teams With Identical Bracket Stats

Currently, Duke University sits atop the ACC conference schools as the number one seed for the conference tournament later this month. However, the drama is in the mid-tier ranked teams with multiple teams tied in season performance as they’re aiming for the highest seed attainable but may fall to an opponent with an identical number of wins and losses.

This is currently seen happening between Florida State, Cal, and SMU as all three schools have 8-8 records. The same dynamic has surfaced farther down the bracket with Stanford and Virginia Tech both having records of 7-9 and then Wake Forest and Syracuse tying with identical records of 6-10.

As of March 1, 2026 and March 2, 2026, these are the most likely matchups of teams who will be playing each other in the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament as all 18 conference teams strive to become the 2026 ACC Conference Champions before March Madness kicks off the national competition on March 15, 2026 with Selection Sunday. But for now as Selection Sunday awaits, here are the predicted selections for the ACC Conference Tournament:

First Round – Tuesday March 10, 2026

Second Round – Wednesday March 11, 2026

Quarterfinals – Thursday March 12, 2026

Semifinals – Friday March 13, 2026

ACC Conference Championship – Sunday March 14, 2026
