Boy, 15, seriously wounded in West Ridge shooting

A teenage boy was shot and wounded Friday in the West Ridge neighborhood.

The 15-year-old was standing near a sidewalk about 7:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Arthur Avenue when two people approached him on motorized scooters and one of them pulled out a gun and fired shots, Chicago police said.

The boy suffered gunshot wounds to his back and arm, police said. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in serious condition.

No arrests were reported.
