Boy, 15, killed in Woodlawn shooting

A teenage boy was shot and killed Tuesday night in Woodlawn.

The 15-year-old was standing in an alley just before 8:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue when someone opened fire, striking the boy in the abdomen and left leg, Chicago police said.

The boy, of the city’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:51 p.m., police said.

No arrests were reported.
