Boy, 14, wounded in West Englewood shooting

A 14-year-old boy was shot and wounded Wednesday night in West Englewood.

The boy was walking about 6 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Wood Street when someone drove up to him in a car, pointed a gun and then fired shots, Chicago police said.

The boy suffered three gunshot wounds to his thigh. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

The attacker fled in the car, police said. Area 1 detectives are investigating.
