Boy, 13, charged with armed robberies on South Side

A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with several armed robberies last spring on the South Side.

The boy is accused of robbing five people at gunpoint June 4 in the South Chicago and Chatham neighborhoods. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with five felony counts of armed robbery, Chicago police said.

According to police, the boy is accused of robbing the following people June 4:

  • A 47-year-old woman at 5:20 a.m in the 2900 block of East 91st Street
  • A 35-year-old woman and a man, 62, about 10:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of East 89th Street
  • A 32-year-old woman at 1 p.m. in the 200 block of West 87th Street
  • A 39-year-old man at 1:15 p.m. in the 100 block of West 87th Street
