Grading The Week: Nuggets games on local TV! KAT traded! Peyton Watson news aside, fans had maybe best week since 2023 NBA Finals

Highlight: Nix conducted an impressive 11-play, 87-yard scoring drive in the third quarter to put Denver on top. He completed a 29-yard pass to Courtland Sutton on third-and-11 before connecting with the veteran wideout for an 8-yard touchdown pass — the first of Nix’s career. Earlier in the quarter, Nix found Sutton for a 23-yard completion.

Lowlight: Nix’s first-half performance was straight out of a horror movie. He was 7 for 15 for minus-7 yards. Yes, that’s correct. Nix did not complete a pass beyond the line of scrimmage throughout the first half. He was 7 for 7 on passes behind the line of scrimmage and 0 for 8 past it. Nix did not generate a successful play on 16 dropbacks and is the first player to have a 0% success rate in the first half in the Next Gen Stats era (minimum of 15 dropbacks).

Why almost nobody is buying green hydrogen

Analysis: Sunday was a tale of two halves. In the first two quarters, Nix settled for check-downs and his accuracy down the field wasn’t great. All of the issues he had in Weeks 1 and 2 were magnified in the first half against New York. But the former Auburn and Oregon signal-caller was resilient. Nix didn’t let his poor play to start the game affect him. He didn’t appear to have issues with the ball slipping out of his hands and did a solid job at pushing the ball down the field.

Unsung Hero

RB Javonte Williams: Denver’s starting running back had his best performance of the season with 16 carries for 77 yards while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. It was the most rushing yards in a game for Williams since last year’s victory over the Buffalo Bills when he had 79 yards on 21 carries. Williams played a big part in both scoring drives on Sunday.

Goat of the game

CB Riley Moss: The Broncos’ second-year cornerback almost cost his team the game. Moss was flagged for defensive pass interference, moving the Jets to Denver’s 36-yard line with 1:04 remaining in regulation. Denver, however, caught a major break when Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein missed the potential game-winning field goal from 50 yards.
