Bo Nix met with the media Wednesday afternoon for the first time since suffering his season-ending ankle injury.
As DNVR’s Zac Stevens noted, he didnât leave much room for uncertainty:Â
The Denver Broncos quarterback spoke directly about his injury, insisting it wonât affect his offseason, his mobility, or Denverâs outlook moving forward.
âIt was a bummer,â Nix said of getting injured after a playoff win.Â
âIt was a little bit unknown at the end of the game. I was just going about business as usual.â
But that uncertainty is now gone.Â
Nix called his surgery âsimple and easy,â described the injury as âjust a simple bone break,â and made it clear heâs already eager to get back to work.
âReady to roll,â Nix said.
Despite the disappointment of watching the AFC Championship Game from the sideline, which he described as âhelpless,” Nix said the experience will motivate him even more to get back to this point.Â
âAll adversity is good,â he said. âThe exciting part is getting ready for next year.â
Bo Nix Details Injury, Timeline, and Recovery Plan
Bo Nix said heâll be back training in four to six weeks and expects no disruption to his normal offseason routine.
âAbsolutely no issue this offseason,â Nix said.Â
âI donât see it being an issue at all. It wonât affect my training. Wonât affect my season at all.â
Nix made it clear heâll begin training when he originally planned to, explaining that he was already scheduled to take some time off.Â
He also pushed back strongly on concerns that the injury could affect his ability as a running quarterback.
âAbsolutely not,â Nix said.
After comments from head coach Sean Payton on Tuesday suggested there may have been something preexisting with the ankle, Nix offered clarification.
âThere was nothing predisposed,â he said. âSomething may have got confused.â
Nix also rejected the idea that heâs injury prone.Â
He pointed out that heâs played four straight seasons and more than 60 games without missing time.Â
Nix Shows Confidence in Broncos FutureÂ
While Nix acknowledged how difficult it was to watch Denverâs season end without being able to play, he framed the moment as motivation rather than frustration.Â
âFor me, itâs just going to make playing in one of these games that much more special,â Nix said.Â
He expressed confidence that Denverâs 2025 breakthrough isnât a one-off.
âThere will be more seasons to play for a championship with the Broncos,â Nix said.
The second-year quarterback added that heâs âso blessedâ to be in âa great organization with great people and support.âÂ
He emphasized that Denver is trying to make winning playoff games a âthemeâ moving forward.
With Nix expected to be 100% healthy for training camp, he will look to take another big leap in Year 3 of his NFL career.Â
