Bills WR Keon Coleman Announces Career News After Team’s Statement on His Future

The Buffalo Bills made a big commitment to Keon Coleman, and now the wide receiver is showing his commitment to Buffalo.

The third-year wide receiver was embroiled in controversy after the conclusion of the season, when owner Terry Pegula took aim at him at a press conference discussing the firing of head coach Sean McDermott. The team has since backed Coleman, who is preparing for his third season in Buffalo and ready to give back to the community.

Keon Coleman’s Football Plans

Coleman took to Instagram on Monday to announce that he would be holding football camps in May, with one in Buffalo and others in Toronto and nearby Rochester, New York.

“New York and Toronto… I’m running it back with @flexworkmgt for more youth football experiences! Join me for a high-energy day of football and unforgettable moments!” Coleman announced.

The Bills receiver held another high school camp last season.

The decision to expand his camp offerings could be a good sign for Coleman, whose future in Buffalo had been in question.

Bills Stand By Keon Coleman

There had been rumors that the Bills could look to trade Coleman after he became a point of contention at the team’s year-end press conference. Pegula tried to push blame on the fired McDermott for the decision to draft Coleman in 2024, leaving the receiver with an uncertain future.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane ended the uncertainty this week, revealing that teams had inquired about trades but the team shut them down. Beane said there were no more trade inquiries during the NFL draft, as teams understood that the Bills had no plans to part with him.

“We had some people, you know, connect with us, you know, in Indy, at least one team there and a couple between there and the owners’ meetings. But we shut those down,” Beane said in an appearance on WGR 550. “You know, our intention is for Keon to be here, and so I think the word was kind of out.”

Beane then made a stronger statement in support of Coleman, making it clear that the team is putting more faith in him for the coming season.

“So no calls this weekend, and, you know, we anticipate, you know, him really, you know, we’ve hit the reset button with him, and hopefully the fan base and everyone’s behind him,” Coleman said. “I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026.”

Coleman had a disappointing 2025 season, failing to match the production of his rookie season and being benched twice for disciplinary reasons. He ended the season with 38 receptions for 404 yards and four touchdowns. Coleman added two receptions for 46 yards with one touchdown in the team’s two playoff games.

He has the chance to take on a bigger role in 2026 after the Bills parted ways with some veteran receivers, including Curtis Samuel. The Bills have not brought back Brandin Cooks, who joined the team off waivers in December and took on a big role through the final weeks of the season and playoffs.
