Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen enters the 2025 NFL season with a new title: Dad. Allen and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, announced the birth of their baby girl earlier this month.
The exact date Steinfeld gave birth remains unclear. She was still pregnant during the Academy Awards on March 15, so their baby arrived sometime between then and April 2.
Either way, the Oscar-nominated actress glowed in a black dress while attending Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold’s wedding on April 3 where Allen served as a groomsman.
The 2024 league MVP cut his paternity leave short, returning to Buffalo for the first day of voluntary workouts on April 7. Days before the 2026 NFL draft, Allen returned to Buffalo and spoke to reporters for the first time since becoming a father.

Allen didn’t hesitate to say how becoming a father has changed his perspective on April 20. “I think it definitely changes the mindset a little bit,” he told reporters. “I’m very excited. I do think this is going to be the best version of myself — in all aspects, my professional career and my personal life.
“It’s such a blessing. I’ve got an absolute rockstar of a wife that’s doing so many things right now and allowing me to be here right now and be with my teammates. Special times.” When asked if he’s gotten any sleep with a newborn at home, “No,” Allen answered with a laugh. “But I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s very rewarding.”
Allen also joked about turning 30 on May 21 and the notion of playing past his athletic peak. “And then hopefully, the dad strength kicks in, right? ” he said. “That’s what they say… I think just getting back to playing this game the way I love to play it, having fun, enjoying my teammates, enjoying this game — not focusing on the results and continuing to love the grind — the results will come with that.”

As Allen mentioned, Steinfeld, 29, has a lot going on since becoming a parent, as well. After announcing her new partnership with Ashley Luxe furniture, Disney announced that Steinfeld will star alongside Rashida Jones in the upcoming animated movie, “Hexed.”
The big news dropped during the company’s presentation at CinemaCon on April 16, Variety reported.
The movie’s storyline “follows a teenage oddball and her Type A mom, who discovers her weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.” Steinfeld will voice the teenager, Billie. “Hexed,” directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, is set to hit theaters on November 25, 2026, one day before Thanksgiving.
