Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent honored Derrick Rose, who retired this week at age 35, by wearing a replica of his McDonald’s All-American jersey on the walk into the stadium before Sunday’s win against the Rams.
Rose is a Chicago basketball legend. He won 120 games at Simeon before becoming the No. 1 overall pick of the Bulls in 2008. He won Rookie of the Year and, two years later, was named the youngest MVP in NBA history.

After leaving the Bulls in 2016, he played for the Knicks, Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Pistons and Knicks a second time. He spent last season with the Grizzlies, where he appeared in 24 games, starting seven.
Rose made three All-Star Games, all with the Bulls, from 2009-12, before tearing his ACL. He announced his retirement Thursday.
The Bears have done similar tributes before — at the Hall of Fame Game, various players wore the jerseys of Devin Hester, Steve McMichael and Julius Peppers.
