Bears sign veteran WR Scotty Miller after weekend tryout

The Bears agreed to sign veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller on Saturday, agent Drew Rosenhaus said. Miller was with them this weekend for a tryout during rookie minicamp.

The deal likely means Miller will be with the team throughout the offseason as he fights for a roster spot before the roster cut-down deadline in August. He’ll be competing against players like Jahdae Walker and Maurice Alexander at wide receiver.

Miller, 28, played at Barrington High School, and the Buccaneers drafted him in the sixth round out of Bowling Green in 2019. He was with them for four seasons and won a Super Bowl playing with Tom Brady. He spent 2023 with the Falcons and the last two seasons with the Steelers.

In seven seasons, he totaled 99 catches for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns, with his best being 33 catches for 500 yards and three touchdowns in the Buccaneers’ 2020 championship season. He also has worked sparingly as a return man.
