Running back D’Andre Swift spent 2020-22 with the Lions. He saw first-hand the work that was done by offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who figure to be candidates for the Bears’ head coaching job.
“Helluva bunch of coaches,” Swift said Friday. “I obviously can tell they have the respect on their side of the ball. As far as head coaches, I don’t know how that would look. In terms of me being there and seeing how they led their group, they did a phenomenal job. Outside looking in, people can see that, too.”
Johnson, who took over as play-caller in the middle of 2021, “does a great job of putting his play-makers in position to go ahead and succeed,” Swift said, and being on the same page as Jared Goff.
“Building that relationship with the quarterback,” he said. “I know they have a great relationship.”
Glenn, he said, was so dynamic that even “the offensive guys gravitated to him just because of how he is.”

Rookie receiver Rome Odunze recovered from a stomach bug in time to practice Friday and will play Sunday against the rival Packers.
