Bears’ inactives vs. Packers: DE Montez Sweat to play through ankle injury

The Bears will have star defensive end Montez Sweat against the Packers on Sunday. He will play through an ankle injury that kept him out of practice part of the week.

They’re hoping for a big game from Sweat, their highest-paid player. He has just 3 1/2 sacks in eight games this season after getting 12 1/2 and making the Pro Bowl last season.

The Bears also will get both starting tackles back with left tackle Braxton Jones returning after missing two games and right tackle Darnell Wright is back after a one-game absence. Both players had knee injuries.

With left guard Teven Jenkins out, the Bears likely will go with a starting offensive line of Jones, Ryan Bates at left guard, center Coleman Shelton, right guard Matt Pryor and Wright.

Here are the Bears’ inactives:

LG Teven Jenkins (ankle)
OL Kiran Amegadjie (calf)
DB Ameer Speed
DE Dominique Robinson

Latest on the Bears
As always, it starts with the quarterbacks for both teams.
The change from Shane Waldron to Thomas Brown at offensive coordinator gives Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense a chance for a needed boost. The Bears’ defense has a big challenge against Josh Jacobs and the Packers’ third-ranked running game.
The problems are deeper than one coach, deeper than one player, deeper than one play.
