Bears honor Pro Football Hall of Famer Devin Hester at halftime of Packers game

The Bears gave Devin Hester his victory lap Sunday at Soldier Field.

Three-and-a-half months after the return legend was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, Hester received his Hall ring during a ceremony at halftime against the Packers.

Hester, who wore his gold jacket over a Bears hoodie, was introduced from the Bears tunnel to the first few bars of Soulja Boy’s “Crank That,” the song that would play as some poor opponent was about to punt or kick the ball.

Hester — who played for the Bears from 2006-13 — thanked the McCaskeys, his teammates and Bears fans.

“Win lose, rain, sleet or snow, you guys showed up and you packed that house,” he said.

Hester holds the NFL record with 14 punt returns for a touchdown. He holds the all-time record with 20 total returns for a touchdown, including five kick returns and one missed field goal return. He is the only player to start a Super Bowl with a kick return touchdown.

Former teammates Charles Tillman, Henry Melton, Israel Idonije, Mike Brown, “Spice” Adams were among the Bears alumni in attendance. Hester mingled with current Bears players, including quarterback Caleb Williams, before the game.
